Moving.... a whole new enviroment....

Have been a very busy week for me. Busy moving house... A lot of mixed feelings actually. Have had the old place for the last 24 years. A lot of childhood and growing up memories there.... But then again... you lose something you gain something too =)

The moving process was terrible.. We had the movers run 2 trips and not everything is cleared. In the end we spent a bomb and still had to return to clear up the misc stuff left behind. That was not all, when the furniture and carton boxes arrived at the new place, the corridor was more or less jammed pack with our stuff. Worse part was the lock guy was fixing up our main door so nothing can be moved in. We had the electrician, the lock guy, the carpenters and the movers here all at the same time. Can you imagine the chaos... *Headache* Everything is still only more or less half-done, that means unpacking is not possible. Can you imagine living in a dust and junk environment at the moment... Geez...

Have had 'mein neuer bester freund' (my new best friend) - the sofa for the last few days. My bed is here but we have no place to fix it up so it has to stay in its corner for the time being.
I guess the only one that is really having fun is my little doggie. Had to put him up at the groomer's place for these few days and from what I see, he most probably would have to stay there for another few days till the place is a little more freed-up. My mom calls his lodging - 'The Hotel'.. LOL
Hopefuly everything will be able to be completed within the next few days. I'm having my Deutsch A1 exam next Saturday.. Have totally no time to study... I really have no clue what will happen... *sigh* 'Ich habe viel stress!!!'

Party Party Party @ Mings

As our wedding was a small affair, I did not have the pleasure to invite my dear frens of so many years.. It was a pity.. However, I managed to arrange for a 'get-together' to officially introduce my Mikka a.k.a my 'Husband'.. keke.... Am so glad that he can get along with all my friends... That night we all drank ourselves silly.. Beer beer and more beer.. I brought home a 'Kaputt' German.. LOL.. Guess the next gathering for him would be when he comes over later part of the year...

Our Wedding @ The Carlton Singapore - 10.04.10

Finally, I am officially 'Mrs Bien' hahaha... sounds funny leh... keke...
Was a small but warm event. Busy busy rush rush day but... was worth it in the end.... *SMILEZ*
Niko - my photographer & good friend - picked me up at 9.30am to go over to the salon to do my hair and make-up. Started raining when we were just arriving... Geez.. Managed to make it to the salon 'safely' and got myself ready... My 'trigger-happy' dear Niko started snapping pics non-stop. Really have to thank her cos without her, there would not be so many nice pics to show... Arrived at the The Carlton Singapore at approx. 12pm (abit later then scheduled cos of the rain in the morning) and managed to do an early check-in.. The solemnization commenced at 12.30pm sharp. Short and sweet.. then... we were pronouced 'Man & Wife' keke.... The lunch we had at Wah Lok Cantonese Restaurant in the hotel was lovely. Have to mention that 'Yogi' (that's not his real name lar.. he's also a Michael.. LOL) is more than just a buddy.. He flew all the way over from Germany just to be one of our witness to our marriage.. Of course at the same time taking a short holiday here lar. He's such a cutie.. Shy and VERY nice.. Our bunny nummer zwei (bunny no. 2)... keke...
So, here are just a few pictures to share...

Remember these?!?!....

We are starting to pack lately cos we will be moving to the the new house in a couple of months. Didn't realize that we had so much to pack... from books to kitchen utensils.. My mom is serious.. she actually packed up all the 'emergency food' we had in the cupboard and left only a few packets of instant noodles and can food... Gosh!! Dad was packing up his bedside table and guess what he passed me? My two 'ancient' pagers from way back... Geez.. they are I think at least about 15 years old... LOL... never knew I had 'antiques' to my name.. hahaha.. Anyway.. Just for memories sake.. I took a picture of them..

To all those that still remembers the codes of "'1-177155-4' & '17-31707-1'" and many more.... Cheers!!

Driving lessons?? Me??

Went to my 1st driving lesson last week... The driving centre - SSDC - has just moved from its old home in Ang Mo Kio to Woodlands. Things were a little confusing at the school maybe cos it was the 1st day that they moved over. I couldn't find the vehicle that I was assigned to but I found  the instructor who was as confused. We later found out that our originally assigned car was in the workshop... The first thing that came into my mind when I was behind the wheel was.. "I can do this!!" The instructor went on to explain the controls and switches etc etc... My task for the lesson was basically starting the car, move off and going round and round the circuit.. The instructor was telling me that the circuit back in Ang Mo Kio was better.. Bigger and more spacious. Better for learners. I personally felt that the circuit in Woodlands is kinda scary.. Small, narrow and lots of blind spots.. Maybe its goods training for me... keke... I'll be goin for my 2nd lesson on Friday (too bad for me the dates are fully booked till then) and I hope I dun knock into or break anything... LOL..

Travel Journal - Day 3 Hong Kong

28.02.10
Made my way to Lo Wu station just a stone's throw away from the hotel around noon. Looking for the immigration counter was a challenge as I did not know the way around. I could only rely on the signs. Finally found it and got my passport stamped. Yay!! Another stamp on my passport for this trip. The train ride was challenge no. 2. Manson told me he would wait for me at Mongkok station. I realized that to get there, I had to make a transfer somewhere in the middle of my ride and I had absolutely no idea where.. Anyway, I just boarded the train. Thank God I was late (due to the wait at the immigration) and he gave me a call while I was on the train. It was then we realized that he had given me the wrong station name.. Phew!! If not for that call, I would be lost in the city... When I finally met him.. Lunch... =D Local food *yummie* Better food than in Shenzhen... keke.. After that was walk walk walk around the city (my poor poor feet...) But the places that we walked by was really interesting. Have seen Mongkok upteen times from the movies and TV shows but being there in person is a totally different feel. Although most of the buildings are old, they just have a kind of enchanting feel about it.. We had coffee at a small coffee shop in one of the old buildings (too many, dunno which one.. =P ) Cosy and comfortable.. Walked down Nathan Road then later to Tsim Sha Tsui.. Went into a couple of malls too but there's nothing special about the malls.. Just like those here in SG. I still like to walk the streets instead.. keke...
Last stop - Victoria Harbour - think this place is a place every visitor to HK must go to. Fantastic view of the commercial district from there.. All the tall skyscrapers.. You can also see Tai Ping Mountain which is across the harbour. But it was really misty today so the upper part of the mountain was not really clear.
Couldn't contact Po Wah for the last week so I gave Alan a call instead.. Woah.. long time no hear from this guy, so he was really surprised to receive a call from me.. But too bad he already had another appointment so we did not meet up. What a pity!!
As it was the 15th day (last day) of the Lunar New Year celebrations, Manson had to go home for dinner.. Tradition.. So when he went back, I took the train and made my way back to Shenzhen. I couldn't walk anymore.... Think I have totally 'overwalked' for the last few days. Came back to the hotel around 9 changed and went out to look for food. Couldn't spare the time to rest even a little bit cos it was getting late and if I still don't get my dinner, I would have to starve for the nite. I really don't fancy the food in China. Not exactly my kinda taste. Nevertheless, still had to fill my stomach. Was sitting alone at the noodle shop watching the sides of some fireworks behind one of the many tall buildings in Luo Hu.. Geez... the feeling was... lonely....
I know that one shouldn't go for massage right after food but my whole body was breaking up so I went ahead for my 1st massage in 3 days. Chinese massage... so-so... I still prefer Thai massage better.. keke..

** Tomorrow, I'll be catching the plane back to SG.
Yay!! Miss home, miss mom and dad, miss Mikka...
